Profitable Agriculture

In the last 30 days Charlene and I have  attended four meetings/workshops to learn more about getting our product in front of the public. The first was a workshop put on by the Center for Profitable Agriculture, The University of Tennessee Extension (CPA ) in conjunction with the Tennessee Farm Bureau ( TFF).  The second was a Farmer to Farmer: Direct Farm Marketing Tours which again was sponsored by CPA and TFF.  The third meeting was the quarterly meeting of  the Tennessee Agritourism Association (TAA).  And finally we participated in a workshop on “Social Media Stradigies for Business” hosted by Theron Hatch, President of  CIRQ  Media Solutions, LLC. In each of these venues we examined and looked at ways to apply proven methods of getting our products to market in the most cost efficient way.

I would encourage any farmer or rancher in Tennessee to go to each of the listed organizations and see what you can gain to make your farming or ranch more profitable.

A lot of people don’t know how good Piedmontese Beef is. Here is a great article about a first time Piedmontese Beef taster and his experience with how good it was. Read about it at Jakob’s Bowl.
